Travel Notes - Train to Vancouver BC

Travel Notes - Train to Vancouver BC

by Bri - Make It Slow, Owner

Tyler and I recently took the Amtrak Cascades train from Edmonds, WA up to Vancouver, BC for a couple nights getaway for my birthday. Tyler's been wanting to do a train trip for a while now and I am not excited about air travel right now so we thought it was the perfect opportunity.

For the trip up, I brought with me the Book Dragon Tote - Embroidery Kit which was a great take-along project for the train, not only because the kit was compact and came with everything except scissors, but because it also meant I had an extra tote for collecting treasures throughout our adventures across the city.

And speaking of treasures, we stumbled on a place called Makers on Robson St. and of course after seeing the name I practically sprinted to the door to check it out - and I was not disappointed. The storefront is home to products from artisans from the community, giving small artists and makers the opportunity for consistent retail traffic that is unreachable for the average maker. Apparently there are more than 20 of these locations across Canada so if your travels take you up there, or you live there (Hi neighbor! So sorry about you know who), be sure to look them up!

I'm including an WIP action shot of my book dragon project from inside the train (so please excuse the rawness of the photo).
